I’m Brandon Wilson. I am constantly working toward improving my mind, body, and spirit using various ancient techniques and cutting-edge biohacking tools and devices. I want to be healthy, but not at the expense of being happy. This simple idea is what it means to be wellthy.
First time reading? Let’s get you in the club.
It’s the last week of 2021. How was the year for you? Better than 2020, I hope. Before I look ahead to 2022, I want to take a moment and review this year. As I look back at the newsletters in 2021, I see quite a few common themes and a lot of great info. In case you missed them, here is an organized list to help you find the topics most interesting to you.
Food and drink
I have a more systematic approach to food than my previous “eat as much as I want of anything that tastes good” philosophy. I analyze food as fuel. Sometimes, I choose not to eat. I don’t eat ideally every day, but I understand how certain foods affect how I feel. I can no longer pretend that I don’t know which foods are bad for me.
Some would say that one section of my granite kitchen countertop has been replaced with a layer of supplement bottles. Why not keep them in the cabinet? The cabinet is full of all the reserves. Some people argue that supplements don’t do anything and are a waste of money. It depends on the supplement. For example, I don’t take a multivitamin because you get too much of certain vitamins and minerals and not enough of others. Some supplements I take every day, while others I cycle depending on my focus. The important thing is to know what you’re taking and why you’re taking it. You get bonus points if you have a way to measure the effects of a supplement.
This one is not my favorite category, so I’m always looking for ways to get more results in less time. I have a job where I sit at a computer all day, so it is especially important for me to undo the damage of sitting.
When I decided to take charge of my health, I started with sleep. After all, it should be the easiest one to improve. All you do is lie there. I get excellent sleep now as long as I stick to my routine.
There is no wheelchair or transplant for the brain. You are stuck with the brain you have, but you are not stuck with diminished brainpower as you get older. You can improve how your brain functions and minimize the risk of mental illness and cognitive impairment.
If you don’t know what biohacking is, read My journey to biohacking. Biohacking is a significant area of focus for me. Technology and research have given us the tools and data to understand our bodies and how the environment influences us. We have the power to improve the way we function and perform.
Dave Asprey Biohacking Box Reviews
The Dave Asprey Box is my favorite subscription box, and I can’t wait to see what goodies show up every quarter. Even if you’re not interested in a subscription, you still might find some interesting products to research. Here are my reviews of all the boxes that were released in 2021.
Don’t wait until January 1st to start a new habit. I don’t believe in New Year’s resolutions because if it’s worth doing, do it now. Today is January 1st.
Congratulations to Barbara C. and Renata, who submitted the correct answers to last week’s brain training. All you have to do is email me or DM on Twitter the correct answer to each week’s brain training, and you will be entered into a monthly raffle to win cool biohacking prizes. Must be a subscriber to win!
Insert the numbers 1 to 9, one per square, so that no two consecutive numbers are in squares that touch in any way, even at a corner.
