Money is in abundant supply, yet why do we have so many people who are poor and broke? Last year, the median savings account balance in the US was $1,200, and 37% of Americans do not have enough cash to cover a $400 emergency expense.1
Who teaches us about money? For good or bad, your feelings and actions around money are likely the same as those of your mom or dad when you were a kid.
On Saturday, I attended an all-day webinar called “Become Magnetic to Money” by Dale Halaway. I am dumbfounded that it has taken me forty-six years to learn about the true nature of money, and I’d like to share my top takeaways from the training.
Seven Principles I Learned About Money
Until you increase the level of importance of money, you will not increase your supply of money. How essential is oxygen to your body and brain? Money should be as important to you as oxygen. There is a direct correlation between how much you like money and how good you are at earning it.
There are two sides to money: 1) The ability to earn, which is directly connected to your desire to give, and 2) The willingness to learn, which is directly connected to what you receive. If you are empowered to earn, you are consistently earning money. It’s a lifestyle. If you’re not learning, you’re not improving your connection to money.
Money is an energy that is intended to flow like water. Do you question where you will get your next drink of water? No, because water has your back, and you trust it. Do you feel the same way about money? The energy of money is electric. Money is impressionable. It will sponge up the frequencies it comes in contact with and reflect them back to you. Think of money as a river. How strong is the current? Money is not intended to be hoarded.
