I’m Brandon Wilson. I am constantly working toward improving my mind, body, and spirit using various ancient techniques and cutting-edge biohacking tools and devices. I want to be healthy, but not at the expense of being happy. This simple idea is what it means to be wellthy.
First time reading? Let’s get you in the club.
The Bio Biz Bash 2024 event in Phoenix wrapped up Saturday, and I’m still on a high from the event. This was my first time attending this conference, and it did not disappoint. I was intrigued not only by the biohacking aspect but also by the marketing for entrepreneurs and biohacking businesses. Let’s get right to the recap.
Tech Hall Wonderland
Arguably, the best aspect of any biohacking conference is the tech hall. Picture a giant room and hallways lined with booths showcasing the latest biohacking technology. On the first day, I spotted Russell Brand in front of a cryo chamber. More and more celebrities are joining the tribe.
My favorite biohacking company, Centropix, was prominently featured in the main hall. Although I was not manning the booth, I referred many people to experience the latest PEMA technology. In case you missed my previous newsletters describing why I’m such a fan, here is my review of the Bubble² and the Kloud.
I met a fantastic couple based in Sedona who own iPyramids, a company that offers healing pyramids using orgonite and frequency technology. I could have stayed under that pyramid all day. I felt very calm and relaxed.
NanoVi is a device that uses special structured water that you inhale to enhance protein folding and improve cellular repair. I used this device during my 40 Years of Zen brain training.
Perhaps my favorite booth at this conference was from NOA|AON. I had seen this booth at previous biohacking conferences, but it was always packed with people, and I hadn’t yet tried any of the products. The company offers courses and live events and curates the latest biohacking tech to help people not only improve their health but elevate their consciousness. I was most impressed with a device called the Vizr, a headset that uses flashing lights paired with sound through headphones to achieve certain brain states. I know it sounds like another one of “those devices,” but there is something fundamentally different about this product. I tried a demo session followed by a breathwork session and felt a profound shift. I had the opportunity to talk with Garnet Dupuis, the inventor of the Vizr, and it’s clear how revolutionary the design is and why it’s so effective. I was sold, and once I’ve put it through its paces, I’ll provide my full review.
Keynote speaker: Gary Brecka
The keynote speaker was Gary Brecka, a human biologist, biohacker, and co-founder of 10X Health. Gary left the life insurance industry, where he was responsible for predicting how long people would live, to help people live healthier and happier. Gary is the ultimate biohacker, right up there with Dave Asprey and Ben Greenfield. His talk was my favorite of the conference. Allow me to share a few nuggets of wisdom.
The convergence of big data, AI, and early detection will lead to condensing 300 years of medical breakthrough advancement every five years.
The presence of oxygen is the absence of disease. All death is ultimately caused by hypoxia--lack of oxygen to the brain.
Artificial sweeteners have been engineered to be addictive. Twenty percent of the chemicals are for sweetness, and eighty percent of the chemicals are for addiction.
Anyone alive in five years will have the choice to extend their health span by seven years.
We are not "diseased," we are nutrient-deficient.
You can trace a continuous line from the top of your hand to the inside of your cheek. The entire digestive tract from the mouth to the anus is actually outside the body. The only thing separating the outside from the inside of the body is a membrane that is one cell thick.
Seventy percent of the circulatory system comes from the microvascular blood vessels and not from the heart pumping.
We must have 91 essential minerals, nine essential amino acids, and two essential fatty acids. There is no such thing as an essential carbohydrate.
The place where you'll find your purpose is a place where you're probably not looking.
Find the most painful thing in your life, fix it, and tell the world about it.
Gary’s Mission: Educate--Inspire--Transform
The best advice Gary received: If you want to shrink your problems, grow your purpose.
My primary goal at this conference was to make genuine connections with people. Rather than try to visit every booth and take in as much as possible, I wanted a deep dive. I met some fantastic people and had lengthy conversations about all things biohacking. The biohacking movement will continue to grow as people get fed up with the existing systems and look for answers to take control and improve their health.
The Daily Habit is where I share my habits related to the fundamentals: sleep, diet, physical activity, mindfulness, and stress management.
Gary’s top tips to supercharge your day:
Get outside and sunlight exposure at sunrise.
Get grounded. Walk outside barefoot on the earth. Use PEMF technology.
Establish a breathwork practice.
Use cold therapy—a cold plunge, cold shower, or cryo-chamber to kickstart fat burning.
Get proper hydration by adding electrolytes or hydrogen to your water.
Supplement strategically for deficiencies.
