I’m Brandon Wilson. I am constantly working toward improving my mind, body, and spirit using various ancient techniques and cutting-edge biohacking tools and devices. I want to be healthy, but not at the expense of being happy. This simple idea is what it means to be wellthy.
First time reading? Let’s get you in the club.
Some of you may be familiar with the American group Earth, Wind & Fire. Here’s a video of one of the group’s popular songs to refresh your memory.
It’s classic 70s music, but unfortunately, founder Maurice White failed to include other critical elements.
I started reading the book PEMF - The Fifth Element of Health by Bryant A. Meyers. The author summarizes the five elements of health: Earth, Water, Wind (Air), Fire, and Aether. Let’s walk through each one and discuss these fundamental elements of health.
Element #1: Earth/Food
In a previous newsletter, I wrote that I’ve been reading the Ultimate Nutrition Bible. A primary thesis of the book is that no perfect diet applies to everyone. You’ll notice that most well-structured diets agree on foods to avoid: processed foods, refined carbohydrates, fast food, sugary drinks, fried foods, and trans fats.
Remember that even if you’re eating a mostly organic, whole-food diet, you might not get adequate minerals due to soil erosion and factory-farming practices. Here are some recommendations to ensure you are getting enough minerals.
Beam Minerals - I start every morning with Beam Minerals in filtered water with some salt.
High-quality salt - I use Redmond Real Salt and Crucial Four Icelandic flake salt. Both of these salts are clean and loaded with trace minerals.
Sea moss - I’ve only recently learned about the benefits of sea moss. Last weekend, I met an enterprising young man named Danny, my connection for high-quality sea moss in the US.
Suppgrade Labs - Minerals 101 - Dave Asprey’s new supplement company has a mineral supplement for those who want the convenience of a pill.
Element #2: Water
Our bodies are 70% water. The ashes of a cremated person average about nine pounds. Here is a friendly reminder of the benefits of drinking more water.
Water helps to maintain a healthy body weight by increasing metabolism and regulating appetite.
The most common cause of daytime fatigue is mild dehydration.
Drinking water can significantly reduce joint and back pain.
Water supports the body’s detox systems to flush out wastes and toxins.
Dehydration is the leading cause of headaches.
Water naturally moisturizes skin and improves appearance.
Water aids in the digestion process and prevents constipation.
Water is essential for proper circulation.
Avoid drinking tap water. What’s wrong with tap water? Look it up. Most bottled water is a dressed-up version of tap water. I like Mountain Valley Spring Water, San Pellegrino, and Topo Chico, all in glass bottles.
Element #3: Air/Oxygen
