I'm feeling better already thanks to an EMF-mitigating device
I’m Brandon Wilson. I am constantly working toward improving my mind, body, and spirit using various ancient techniques and cutting-edge biohacking tools and devices. I want to be healthy, but not at the expense of being happy. This simple idea is what it means to be wellthy.
First time reading? Let’s get you in the club.
The electromagnetic spectrum is the range of radiation emitted by very hot objects. Gamma and x-rays have the highest energy/frequency and shortest wavelengths on one side of the spectrum, and radio waves have the lowest frequency and longest wavelengths on the other. Visible light represents a tiny fraction of the electromagnetic spectrum. For example, if the entire range were represented by $100,000, visible light would amount to $3.50. So much for “seeing is believing.”
My point is there is a wide range of energies and frequencies that we cannot see, maybe can’t even feel, yet they exist and can potentially cause harm1. In a previous newsletter, I wrote about the harmful effects of electromagnetic frequencies (EMFs) and how to mitigate them.
Modern technology provides many great conveniences, but does my toaster need to be connected to the internet? I will allow an exception for the Brava smart oven because of access to all kinds of recipes, with new ones added every week. But I don’t need my refrigerator to tell me I’m almost out of milk.
I’m not waiting for the science to be settled on this one. EMFs can make you feel weak, and that’s not helpful on the path to be wellthy. Some tools and devices help mitigate the effects of EMFs, and thanks to good ol’ Black Friday, I took delivery of one last week.
I first heard about Somavedic after hearing Dave Asprey talk about them. Somavedic makes 100% handmade glass objects that contain precious and semi-precious stones and metals such as platinum, palladium, gold, and silver. These stones emit naturally-occurring frequencies that can counteract the effects of EMF radiation.
Benefits of Somavedic
Reduce effects of mobile phone radiation, including 3G, 4G, 5G, and WiFi
Positive effects on the cardiovascular and nervous system, including heart rate variability (HRV) and blood pressure
Mitigates effects of free-radical damage
Ability to create structured water, the most bioavailable form of water that occurs in nature
Mitigation of damage from geopathic zones
Now don’t ask me how this all works. It probably sounds just as woo-woo as quantum technology. There are quite a few scientific studies that support these claims. The bottom line is, does it work?
My experience
I purchased the Vedic. There’s no maintenance for the device. All you need to do is plug it in, and it has a radius of about 100 ft (30 m) that penetrates floors and walls. I have it centrally located on the island in my kitchen for maximum exposure throughout the house. I work at home with WiFi signals bouncing everywhere, so if anyone needs a reprieve from all the EMFs, I do.
Do I feel a difference? Yes, but it’s hard to describe. I have felt a little more calm. I feel like I’m sleeping better. Of course, I have my sleep dialed in, so we’re only talking a couple of points difference on my Oura ring score. I did notice a slight improvement in my HRV.
I also put jars of water next to the Vedic to become structured. The water tastes different, and I noticed it runs right through me, if you know what I mean.
So, maybe it works. Perhaps it’s the placebo effect. Does the reason really matter as long as I feel a difference?
I realize that these devices are not cheap. The good news is that Somavedic offers a 60-day money-back guarantee, so you can try it and get your money back if you don’t feel a difference.
If you are curious to know more about Somavedic’s technology, the CEO was interviewed on an episode of the Your Health. Your Story. podcast.
EMFs are here to stay, and it’s worth exploring options and solutions to minimize their harmful effects.
The Daily Habit is where I share my habits related to the fundamentals: sleep, diet, physical activity, mindfulness, and stress management.
Keep your phone out of your bedroom, or at least put it in airplane mode or turn it off when sleeping. Consider an EMF-blocking phone case, like one from Defender Shield or Safe Sleeve.
Congratulations to last week’s winners: Tobias L., Barbara C., Ariel E., Scott S., and Renata B. November’s raffle is now closed with 22 entries. All you have to do is email bewellthy@substack.com the correct answer to each week’s brain training, and you will be entered into a monthly raffle to win cool biohacking prizes. You must be a subscriber to win! I do respond to every email.
This week:
The diagram below is the beginning of a “magic square” in which the numbers 1-16 are used exactly once, and all rows, columns, and both diagonals add up to 34. Fill in the rest of the numbers.
