Love reading (listening) about your experience and the life-changing time you had. The story about your hands is truly amazing and testament to the mind body connection.

Hey Brandon, this is excellent, thanks. I would like to do it at some point. As far as healing trauma goes, I am wondering how this compares with psychedelics? Many people have reported healing trauma (which we all have, especially me) by using substances such as psilocybin or ayahuasca in a therapeutic setting, (as seen in Michael Pollan’s book Change Your Mind, which btw they just made a fantastic series of on Netflix). Anyway, I am wondering, if I were looking into both psychedelics and 40 Years of Zen at some point, how do they compare, and would you have any idea which one a person should do first?

Hello Keith. I don't have any experience with psychedelics. In his talk at the Biohacking Conference, David Rabin cited some recent research studies with promising benefits of psychedelics, specifically for treatment of PTSD. 40YofZen and psychedelics are both substantial and potentially life-altering experiences. I would explore all the different options available and consult with a professional who can provide advice for your unique circumstances. Tim Ferriss has a pretty comprehensive list of trama resources here: https://tim.blog/2020/09/14/how-to-heal-trauma/#trauma-resources. Best of luck!
