What I’m watching
At the 10th Annual Biohacking Conference last year, Dave Asprey conducted a Zoom interview with Bryan Johnson, the self-proclaimed “most measured human in history.” Bryan takes biohacking to the ultimate extreme in his quest for longevity. You can view his extensive protocol on his website. The Netflix documentary called Don’t Die: The Man Who Wants to Live Forever explores Bryan’s history and how he decided to pursue the goal of living forever. Here is a trailer.
If you’d like to see a casual conversation with Bryan where he actually comes across more as a human and less like a robot, take a look at his conversation with Bill Maher on the Club Random podcast.
What I’m reading
In a mentorship group, we are reading a fantastic collection of books called The Complete Works of Florence Shinn. These books explain the laws of the universe in very simple terms and how we can control our destiny through our intent, imagination, and words. The first book in this collection, The Game of Life and How to Play It, was written 100 years ago, yet the principles are relevant today. Here is a free audio version on YouTube. I started a new habit of reading the physical book (with highlighter in hand) while listening to the audio, which has enhanced my retention.
What I’m listening to
You may have seen and heard countless news stories about the Senate confirmation hearings for the Secretary of Health and Human Services candidate, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. I watched a clip where a senator claimed the science was settled that vaccines do not cause autism. Well, if it’s not vaccines, what is the cause? We cannot ignore that something has led to the exponential rise in autism over the last 40-50 years. I listened to a fascinating conversation between Dr. Toby Rogers and Dr. Bret Weinstein in which they have a nuanced discussion about the economics of autism. We continue to hear that vaccines are “safe and effective,” and anyone who questions that assertion or asks for supporting data is labeled an anti-vaxxer. Remember, science is never settled; it should evolve as we learn more and realize how much we don’t understand about complex systems.
